Love is In the Air

Here is Sawyer's other Olivia. Yes, he has many ladies in his life, and even has 2 Olivias. His best Olivia is Livi in Maryland. Notice the slobber on his forehead, it's not Sawyer's slobber. I like how he stares at the camera with that, "Oh yeah, come and get it, ladies," expression. And the title refers to more than just hanging out with the girls here. He's somehow tapped into the Valentine's Day spirit and is full of kisses and hugs for his mommy. Every time I ask, and even when I don't ask, I get the wonderful open-mouth loud breathing baby kiss. He also puts his head on my shoulder when I hold him and even fell asleep in my arms the other day. That hasn't happened since he was about 5 months old. Despite a second top tooth coming in, Sawyer has been in excellent spirits and is fantastic company as we run our short errands to playgroup, the aquarium, a friend's house.

A few friends, plus our maid, have given their 2 cents (or baht) as to whether Pat should give food to the Soi 11 bum. To be more PC I'll name him Captain Jack. So far, I've mentioned him to 3 people here and all knew who I was referring to immediately. And none think Pat should feed him since he might be on drugs and dangerous. Yesterday I saw him try to take food from a food stall on the street and a lady shooed him away. He just kept walking. Before I said anything about him other than that he is the guy on Soi 11, Arlyn mentioned his spitting game...I guess this is something he does a lot. So maybe it would be dangerous for Pat to approach him.

Not a lot is happening here at home. We're just keeping busy. I'm going to try out a yoga class on Friday. It's iyengar yoga, no meditation or anything like that. Just lots of stretches which is probably just what I need after crawling around on the floor all day. Sawyer is still scooting around and helping me find places we need to child-proof. He has done well so far but I can feel the days of bruises and slammed fingers quickly approaching. Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying February. It's been nice here the last few days, cool and sometimes a little rainy. Friday I go to a Chinese New Year party so I'll let you all know how it goes. Hooray for the rat!

Of course, Olivia is like the freakin' most popular name in the world right now.

But... good for Sawyer. Having ladies dig you is very important. I learned that a long time ago. Ladies rule the world.

I'm really enjoying your blog too. I've got it bookmarked. Keep up the good work.
