Goofball

He didn't want to use the spoon and kept going for the bowl so I gave it to him. I'm still not sure if he was trying to shovel food into his mouth or just use the bowl as a teething ring, but I spooned the rice cereal in his mouth as he did it just to get things moving. So far Sawyer has eaten rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, apples, peas, bananas, and is currently trying green beans. Bananas are by far his favorite, just like his mommy when she was a baby. We haven't really tried finger foods, but I guess we could start moving in that direction soon. Today I bought his first jars of baby food since everything up until now has been homemade. The carrots and apples seem to be the cheapest to make here at home so far. I also just bought some apple juice that's made for toddlers so it doesn't have added sugar. Today is Sawyer's 7 month birthday, by the way!

In other news, I just finished what started as a modest slice of cheesecake and turned into a huge pile of cheesecake with an obscene amount of Cool Whip. And chocolate syrup. BUT I have been to the gym on the elliptical machine twice this week and swam laps once, and will do laps again tomorrow. So it's not all bad. Oh, and I've been doing some weights. I tend to be a boredom eater. Not that there isn't anything to do here, it's just that when Pat's not around and Sawyer's in bed, I don't feel like doing much. That's a horrible excuse. Here's another picture of Sawyer. He did that himself, I was so proud. Well, I guess there isn't a whole lot going on around here. Having a full-time maid is fantastic but it takes getting used to. Sawyer doesn't mind me walking around the house in my underwear, but I'm thinking our maid...not so much. She is really great when it comes to entertaining Sawyer while I go take a shower or exercise. Before my showers were games of peek-a-boo, singing at the top of my lungs, etc. That sounds nice but really, that kind of thing isn't so much fun when you're doing it because you have to. I guess I could always just let the baby fuss, he needs to know I'm not always a walking circus. Sometimes I see him as a little sharpshooter firing away at my feet snarling, "Dance, Mommy, DANCE!"
