Brag Time!

Look at my guys! Aren't they the sweetest? I'm going to have more babies one day and I wouldn't care if they're all boys! I love my men! Patrick is a great dad and I wish friends and family at home could see the way Sawyer looks at him. He knows his daddy and thinks he's the funniest guy. The other night I was trying to feed Sawyer and couldn't hold his attention - he was too busy watching dad put together the crib. There are lots of different subjects I'd like to cover so I'll give my blog subheadings today:
Anderson News
We received our second and final shipment of stuff from home. I was a little worried we'd have piles and piles of junk that we have no use for and the phrase of the week would be, "Why the heck did we pack this?" Fortunately, we weeded out a lot by throwing it out or donating it to Goodwill before leaving the US. What's left is a lot of kitchen gadgets and appliances, winter clothes, Pat's wires (what else?), the printer, PlayStation (can't go to an Asian country without karaoke), and finally Sawyer's toys and clothes. Sadly, there were quite a few outfits that Sawyer won't be able to wear because he's already too big. Save those for the next lucky baby! AND our incredible stroller came! It was pricey, but is durable and weighs about 9 lbs. which is essential in BKK, especially since Sawyer is growing like a...weed isn't really the right word. He's kind of growing like a little tick. Okay linebacker is much cuter.
Sawyer News
Coach S.B. Anderson says this Sunday's game is a big one. He said the Seahawks are dumb. At a press conference this morning, Anderson was unusually fired up as he assured fans that the Steelers will make strained peas out of Seattle. Sawyer does have a little heat rash and still has a cold, but he's a trooper and his appetite is rarely affected, just like mommy! We're actually doing some naked time right now in the swing to give his skin some air. Sawyer has also discovered an interesting appendage in his diaper and wastes no opportunity to grab and yank at it. It makes me cringe because he isn't very gentle. It also makes diaper changes take twice as long as necessary since not only can I not fasten the diaper with his hand in it, but right as I open up the dirty diaper, the hand reaches down and sometimes grabs quite a mess. And where does the hand go next? The picture above holds the answer. It's okay to put hand sanitizer into expressed breastmilk in case he swallows something dirty, right?
Kelly News
Anyone who knows me well knows that growing up in Ft. Lauderdale left me restless during colder months because it was never cold enough. I could not have been the only second grader wondering why there were colored leaves on the walls of our classroom, and later snowmen, when that wasn't reality in Florida. That ticked me off, but Mrs. Haxby wasn't the kind of teacher you had casual conversations with, especially since she remembered my dad and uncle and I needed to get on her good side! Moving to MD put me right where I needed to be - riding the season roller coaster. Anyway, for those of you who don't know, now I'm going through full-on autumn withdrawals. Just like you feel yourself start to wilt at the end of winter from lack of sun, you feel yourself burn out at the end of summer from lack of crisp air. Right now I feel like I've fallen waterskiing and I'm watching the boat speed away without me. The only remedy I can think of is baking. My kitchen stuff couldn't have come at a better time.
Bangkok Life
Playgroups are on Tuesdays at 11am and I hosted my first this week. Everyone was understanding when it came to our non-childproofed home and I am enjoying being part of a little group. Conversations at playgroup are always a reality check. Your life will never be the same - we're describing local vacation spots based on how easily you can get down the sidewalk pushing a stroller. "Singapore is awesome, the sidewalk is so FLAT!" Seriously. Nightlife, forget it. "There are changing tables in EVERY bathroom!" I really do love this group, because they are all a step ahead with their babies who are a bit older than S. and I take a lot of notes.
Adios for now!
We love you, whoever you are, and miss most of you! Okay just kidding. I promise I'll take a camera with me the next time I'm on an outing that allows me to have a free hand to take pics.
