4:44pm and lots of exciting things to share

Hi. My toenails are royal blue. This is a first for me, funky toenail (and fingernail) colors. Sawyer really gets a kick out of telling me my toes are blue so it's worth the teasing from Pat. Poor Pat has finally gotten over a stubborn cold that has been hanging around for a month. Sawyer was just getting over his when we got back from Krabi but today his nose is running like a faucet. Along with his drool and tears. I hung out with someone who does not have kids yesterday. What a nice time being with someone who doesn't want to hear the details of the latest toy recall or Sawyer's snot color...and she doesn't have any details like that to share with me. In case I haven't mentioned this before, I'm continually fascinated by the fascination of non-Americans on American politics (weird sentence). This morning at Sawyer's swim class a guy was asking me if I was watching this last debate. I told him I almost skipped class to keep watching it. He just came right out and said it's so exciting and interesting to keep up with our soap opera politics. He's not the first one to say that to me, not even close. While we're pretty buffered by a lack of US news (with the exception of a little news on AFN), I have learned enough to again end up feeling defeated about the whole thing. So I just deleted a rant of mine about how I never end up thinking that I know or understand enough about politics and how this gets worse the more I try to learn...DELETE!
